PHILOSOPHY OF THE LIFE SCIENCES
UTRECHT UNIVERSITY
After a double training in philosophy (Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris I, Unige) and ecology (MNHN Paris), I am currently a Post-Doctoral researcher in the field of the philosophy of the life sciences in the Netherlands (Utrecht University, funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation).
I am especially interested by conceptual issues concerning the philosophy of ecology and environment, health and evolutionary biology.
In the last decade, my research has especially concerned the relationships between evolutionary theory and the idea of progress (see in Publications my monograph "Organic Progress and evolutionary theory").
My present Post-doctoral project is rather oriented towards the study of the interactions between environment ans health, focussing on the "One Health" approach.
Since 2013, my research has been undertaken in parallel with a teaching activity. I have been teaching mainly (but not only) classes related to philosophy of science, for students of Bachelor and Master having different backgrounds, such as biology, agronomy and humanities.
